Teretonga Park is Invercargill’s premier motor racing venue and home to the Southland Sports Car Club.
While the track and club is successful, the motor racing market is becoming increasingly sophisticated and this has called for a dramatic step up in the club’s marketing strategy to continue to attract and retain both racers and spectators.
The first step was to review the club’s current marketing activity and define a clear marketing strategy going forward, along with a full year marketing plan detailing what activities should take place and when.
The first item implemented from the plan was a re-brand for the venue and the club, as the current material was outdated and under-sold the quality entertainment and experience offered by the club. This also included the development of a series of standard templates for use in promoting the venue and events held at it.
The new Teretonga Park logo features a super-sleek, modern typeface which references a racetrack and the high paced entertainment which occurs there. The Southland Sports Car Club logo was also re-designed to create a clear visual link between the club and its venue and to help connect the two in the minds of the public.
"Market South has helped our club to take a more strategic approach to our marketing and promotional activity, identifying each of our target markets and then recommending the 'best bang for buck' ways of reaching these.
We're particularly proud of our new branding; this is helping to give us increased visibility, continuity of image and ensure we stay relevant in the eyes of our racers, spectators and sponsors."
