The Brief

The Southland Chamber of Commerce is the organisation that provides information, representation and networking opportunities for businesses throughout the region.

The Chamber’s role is to be leading the way in business; however their existing branding and communications collateral did not portray their professional, upwardly mobile values. When celebrating their 150th year in Southland the Chamber engaged us to refresh their brand and ensure it was applied consistently at every touch-point that they have with their members and the wider business community.

Our Work

Because of the Chamber’s proud history, we felt it was important to retain a clear visual connection to where they had come from; thus we designed the new logo to feature colour blocks that reference their old logo. We replaced the forest green with an energetic bright blue, and added a series of upward sloping, connecting segments to reference the Chamber’s role of bringing businesses together to help them grow.

We carried the new branding across all of the Chamber’s brand and communications collateral, both printed and electronic – including stationery, signage, website and email newsletters.

The rebrand was considered a resounding success and assisted the Chamber in growing its membership numbers, increasing event attendance and building its reputation for leading the way in business in the Southland region.
