Kindergartens South are leaders in early childhood education, with 23 locations throughout Southland. Their philosophy is that children should be encouraged to learn through play, exploration and imagination, supported by a staffing team made up entirely of qualified teachers.
They engaged us to evolve their brand and develop a fresh new campaign to raise awareness of their offering and highlight the ways in which kindergarten is different to other preschool and childcare providers.
We guided the Kindergartens South board through a brand evolution, adopting the unique colour palette of purple and green to help the organisation achieve brand recognition and cut through in what is a highly competitive early childhood education market.
We also developed a creative campaign based on the concept that children at kindergarten play with simple, everyday items, but through imagination they create an exciting scenario around what they are doing. For example, a child playing in a cardboard box might be flying a plane in his imagination.
To help engage kindergarten parents and the community we ran a photo competition to select the child who would feature as the face of the campaign. We held a studio photoshoot capturing the child interacting with the everyday items, and then digitally illustrated the imagined scenario around the photograph. The designs were then applied to outdoor billboard advertising, print advertising, brochures, posters and banners.
