Invercargill Airport is the gateway to Southland and Stewart Island. Between 2014-2016 they undertook a multi-million dollar terminal upgrade project to modernise the airport and ensure the customer experience matched that offered by the region as a whole.
Invercargill Airport enlisted our services to help them manage the communications and publicity throughout the upgrade project. We were also engaged to assist with design of signage to optimise the visitor experience in the new terminal and assist with its promotion when it was opened.
Throughout the upgrade project we provided PR services including media releases, editorial features, media management and photography, to control the flow of information and keep the local media informed at each stage of the upgrade process. We also produced printed material, airport terminal signage and information boards to assist in communicating these messages to the general public.
We developed new permanent signage to feature throughout the new airport terminal, based on a central theme of ‘southern skies’, having commissioned a photoshoot for this of skies in key spots throughout the Southland region.
At the completion of the project we co-ordinated their grand opening event, produced collateral to document the redevelopment project and assisted with the awards entry which saw them awarded Regional Airport of the Year in 2016.
"Invercargill’s new airport required a significant amount of public relations and stakeholder communication, we did a complete re-build whilst operating a fully functional airport. I engaged Market South to assist with public liaison and ensure visual communication was clear and mitigated public risk.
Market South delivered every time and at times with the pressure on and very tight turnaround time."
